Perched at 1,600 metres above sea level, Lizum 1600 is located in the heart of the Axamer Lizum mountain resort. Thanks to its convenient location, our hotel is just a 30-minute drive from Innsbruck, the capital of Tyrol. Whether you are travelling by car, train or plane, reaching us is easy and comfortable. In summer, breathtaking mountain scenery, hiking trails and fresh Alpine air await you. In winter, enjoy true ski-in/ski-out access and head straight from the hotel to the slopes. The Axamer Lizum ski area offers ideal conditions for winter sports and has previously served as a venue for the Olympic Winter Games.
Lizum 1600 is easily accessible from all directions.
From Garmisch-Partenkirchen (toll-free via the B177):
Garmisch – Seefeld – Zirl – Kematen – Axams – Axamer Lizum
From Landeck (A12 Inntal Motorway):
Exit Kematen – Axams – Axamer Lizum
From Kufstein (A12 Inntal Motorway):
Exit Innsbruck West – Völs – Axams – Axamer Lizum
From the Brenner Pass (A13 Brenner Motorway):
From the Innsbruck-Süd exit, continue via Mutters and the surrounding villages of Natters, Götzens and Axams towards Axamer Lizum
Final approach to the hotel
In winter:
From the Axamer Lizum car park, follow the paved access road to the left, passing Hotel Olympia and then driving through the underpass. Continue by following the signs for “Hotel und Kompetenzzentrum Lizum 1600” and follow the access road up to the hotel.
In summer:
From the Axamer Lizum car park, follow the paved access road to the left, passing Hotel Olympia and continue by following the signs for “Hotel und Kompetenzzentrum Lizum 1600” up to the hotel.
Please note: Snow chains may be required in winter road conditions.
Your mountain experience begins before you even land. During your approach to Innsbruck Airport, you'll enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding Alpine landscape. The airport is located just 20 kilometres from Hotel & Competence Centre Lizum 1600.
For your onward journey, you can choose from several convenient options:
- Rental Car – All major car rental companies are available directly at Innsbruck Airport.
- Taxi – Taxis are readily available outside the terminal or can be booked in advance.
- Public Transport – Bus and train connections provide easy access to Innsbruck and onward to Axamer Lizum. Current timetables and journey information can be found on the websites of IVB and VVT.
Travel comfortably by train to Innsbruck Central Station. From there, you can easily reach Axamer Lizum via a direct bus connection.
During both the winter and summer seasons, a free ski bus or free hiking bus is also available.
